Matthias Rippmann


Matthias Rippmann was a founding partner of ROK and was co-executive partner until February 2015. He studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart and the University of Melbourne and received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in 2007. He is currently part of the Block research group as a research assistant at the ETH Zürich. Prior Matthias gained his professional and academic experience in various institutions in Stuttgart. His interest in complex geometries and advanced construction led him to the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart where he was a co-leader of several research and teaching projects as a research assistant. In this context Matthias’ work was part of several international exhibitions. He also lectured at schools like the ABK Stuttgart and the ETH Zürich. Moreover he worked on numerous international Projects for Behnisch Architects, L.A.V.A. and Werner Sobek Stuttgart as an architect and consultant. With ROK he won the Arch+ competition Simple Systems - Complex Capacities in 2009. In 2007 he was awarded for his contribution to the Pininfarina-AED Award and won the 3rd prize of the Baunetz, Autodesk & HP Internet Award in 2005.
